Airport Express Rail Service (AEL)

These sleek, air conditioned trains even have televisions installed on the back of their seats. Departing from Hong Kong Station in Central every 10 minutes from 5.50am – 12.28am daily, the service calls at Kowloon station in Jordan and at Tsing Yi Island before reaching the airport. Tickets cost HK$100/90/60 one way (return tickets are better value) and the service takes 23/20/12 mins from Central/Kowloon/Tsing Yi Island respectively. The Station at the airport is part off the terminal building with platforms joined directly to the arrival and departure halls making the journey easier if you’re hauling heavy baggage.
Airport Express Bus
With two shuttle bus routes on Hong Kong Island (H1 & H2) and six in Kowloon (KI-K6) these efficient buses run from 6am-11pm. The timetables and route maps are available from the tourist office at Chek Lap Kok and MTR stations in the city.
Airbus
Is another cheap shuttle bus service running between the airport and the city, stopping at all the major accommodation areas. There are regular departures between 6am and midnight and the airport customer service counter sells tickets, otherwise pay on board using the exact change. The journey takes about an hour in the air-conditioned buses.
Buses
Useful bus routes running to and from the airport include the A21 (HK33), which runs down Nathan Road through Mong Koh, Yau Ma Tei and Tsim Sha Tsui, the A12 (HK45) which goes to Central, through Wan Chai and Causeway Bay, terminating in Chai Wan, A11 (HK40) which does to the Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal, onto Central, Hennessy Road, Wan Chai, Causeway Bay and terminating at Tin Hau Station.
MTR
From 5.30am-midnight the #51 bus takes visitors to the Tung Chung MTR line on Lantau. From here, the metro line runs alongside the AEL line to Kowloon and Central. The ticket costs HK$23 one way.
Taxis
Metered, reliable and found in the ranks outside the terminals, the journey into the city costs approx HK$330. During the rush hour, the traffic can be slow-moving and you maybe charges extra for tolls.
